Rush U11 girls are ball girls. Marta is on the field, getting the balls for the players during the game. She is right now standing behind the Houston Dash bench, talking to the players.
Dynamite scores big time! Mini-devils won too, but out of sheer luck and better spatial placement in the field.
The Dynamites won his third game, or so the parents tell me. I was too busy encouraging them to run for defense and attack to count the goals. Everyone of the five players in the field score a goal on Saturday, and some scored twice. It was a soccer festival for both parents and kids. And then for myself, because the players understood that when I say defense, the have to run back, to their goal and protect it, no matter what. And they all did it.
And they understood, happily that if they put effort in the game, they get more play time, more time out in the field to score and defend. And more praise, because the 5 years old played like 8 years old.
I am going to watch on any given Sunday again, for the pep talk of Al Pacino.
