What did I learn this weekend?
Running races are participating events and triathlon are competition events. I shouldn’t just participate. Next time I have to compete if I don’t want to end up in the wrong 95% percentile.

Bottom line: I better train for the triathlon next year, and in the meantime, let’s throw a marathon here and there.
Cheers

Do a search of “tethering the iphone 3.1 at&t” and you get 102,000 hits and the first 10 are worth nothing. Why? Because they only tell you that Apple did break the tethering over USB/bluetooth for the iPhone 3GS version 3.1.2… so what am I writing about then? I am writing about “Enable Tethering for the Iphone 3GS” from SiNful iPhone Repo, one of lots of applications in Cydia (yes my iphone is jailbroken, but it is my hardware).
Now, my iPhone gives me lots of download speed. I was controlling my home server over logmein, over the iPhone.
So, forget Google and choose Cydia.

Do I understand it? Nope but works, so what do I care.
I don’t know if I ever talked about HFS. HFS is an http file server,
open source. Coupled with stunnel it is a very robust server. But the
server wouldn’t let me user port 483 for secure connections. Say hello
to vmplayer. I did install win7 rc7100 in an empty image, install
stunnel and HFS and because they are in the same network, I can use
shared folders. I cannot do that with freeNAS.
So, what is the address of the https server? Knowledge comes in a need
to know basis ;)
So, what is the benefit of port 483 over 80? Encryption. The fact that
I want to share a couple of files with friends and family can make me
look like an uploader to the RIAA. Another benefit is that Eulalia
doesn’t need to carry a thumbdrive anymore because she can upload and
download from her special place in the 1TB hdd at any given time.
So look for HFS on the web. I am donating today.
Cheers

Darn it!

Happy as a clam!
Ok, I have managed to set a secure server at home. Last week I was able to set the http file server. This week is secure and encrypted! And the connections are point to point :)
Ouff.
Be nice

Carlos

“Science Fiction is the only literature worth stealing”
Or so he says, but then he releases all his books on the Internet for
free!
http://www.craphound.com/
And if you want to start with one book then pick “Little Brother”. And
because he has every format in there you can read it in your phone,
iPhone, blackberry, kindle and so on. If it has a screen (Nintendo DS
wink wink) you can read it. And then head to Borders to get your
hardcopy.
Cheers and happy readings,
